I chose this model only because of its favorable rating history. I was very impressed with the audio and the looks of this thing. It looks and feels much better than the photos I’ve seen. I was also happy to see that my old, ancient iPod (4th gen 20gb iPod from 2004—size of a small refrigerator) docks nicely with this unit.
The only downside is that the remote control does not allow me to navigate through the different playlists on my iPod. The most it can do is skip forwards and backwards. But I think that’s a common thing among other docking players. Overall, I love this player. I found it disconcerting that Altec Lansing’s more recent products all seem flimsy and cheap. Thank goodness the T612 is still a part of their lineup. I highly recommend it.
